This May, Spend $10 and Get $30 with the Market Match Program!

Written by UCSC Basic Needs

The Market Match Program is available during 2021 at all five Santa Cruz County Farmers' Markets including Felton, Downtown Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, Westside and Live Oak. The program offers farmers’ market customers with CalFresh (EBT/SNAP) cards a dollar-for-dollar match up to ten dollars.

The goal of the Market Match Program is to encourage CalFresh (EBT/SNAP) recipients to take advantage of fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables. By offering an incentive that makes fresh produce more accessible, we are helping shoppers stretch their food dollars while keeping their families healthy. For example, if a CalFresh customer swipes their card for ten dollars, they receive ten additional dollars in script at no charge. These matching dollars can be used to purchase fresh vegetables and fruits only.

In celebration of May being CalFresh Awareness Month, the Market Match Double Up Program is expanding to a triple match where $10 of EBT is matched with $30 of Market Match to spend at Santa Cruz County Farmers' Markets!
